Open House and Holiday Party Dec 16th, 11:30-2:30 Deane Hill Rec Center. See classroom, meet other parents, share ideas. Activities and crafts, bring a holiday snack to share, toddler activies provided by BusyBeans.

My Classroom is an opportunity for special needs/ learning challenged homeschool children of all ages to experience a classroom setting. The goals will simply be to participate to the best of their ability. We will work on staying on task and social skills. We may lightly touch on different areas of academics.

We are calling the group my classroom to teach the children to say they are going to their classroom.

We will be meeting at Deane Hill Rec Center, 7400 Deane Hill Dr,Knoxville TN.

The room we will be meeting in is already set up with computer stations, tables and chairs, dvd/vcr tv, and a kitchenette. We also have access to a large gym.

Currently there is no fee for this group. We may need to divide up supply lists should we need them. And if we do hire a teacher we may need to pay them as well, hopefully no more than $30 a month.

We will have field trips as the opportunity arises. So please watch for a calender on this website soon.

We will have our class learning time, activites,parties, crafts, computer time and possibly cooking classes in this room. We will use the gym for low impact activities, and may use dvds to help the children learn things such as exercise ball, yoga or line dancing.

We will meet every Tuesday from 12-2pm and Thursday from 10:30 to 2:30pm. Tuesday will less structured and we may share activities with the Homeschool social group.

This classroom will be similar to a co op where parents will participate in teaching. Please let me know if you have a particular subject you are good in or a skill you would like to teach. We may hire a teacher at some point.
